Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Health & Wellbeing, Nicola Sturgeon MSP, and Cabinet Secretary for Justice, Kenny MacAskill MSP visited Govanhill Law Centre today to discuss the work of the new law centre. The Scottish Government Ministers heard about the centre's legal casework, public legal education strategy, and public policy work in Glasgow's Govanhill.
Ms Sturgeon noted that the challenges facing Govanhill were practically unique, and that the Scottish Government and Glasgow City Council were looking at a number of solutions and strategies to address the problem of gangmasters, substandard private rented accommodation and slum landlords.
